Dr Yusuf Haffejee BDS (1991)

Dedicated To Your Smile

Dr Yusuf Haffejee was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He received his BDS from the well known and highly acclaimed University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 1991. In 1992 he moved to the UK. Opening his practice in 1994 fulfilled Dr Haffejee’s life-long dream. A firm believer in continuing education, he is committed to staying abreast of the leading-edge dentistry techniques – essential for providing his patients with the highest quality dentistry possible.

Dr Yasmin Kagzi - Dentist

I was born and raised in the vibrant and multicultural city of Leicester and graduated from Birmingham University in 2006, where I gained the knowledge and skills in the latest dentistry techniques.

After joining Smile Zone in 2008, I have been able to follow my passion and enthusiasm in dentistry. I have developed a special interest in periodontology and restorative dentistry which has enabled me to help many patients.

As I grow as a dentist I continue to build on my expertise by frequently attending courses and seminars in dentistry and testing the latest dental products and techniques.

Associate Dentist - Dentist

Following on from his degree and completing vocational training in Leicestershire, he has been working in the area since and has been practicing general dentistry. He is extremely keen to learn about new techniques and dental procedures and attends many postgraduate courses to keep up to date with modern dentistry.

He has completed the both the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice as well as the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is committed to continuing professional development and regularly attends dental courses and dental meetings.

He has also worked as a dental vocational trainer and has gained a wealth of experience from working in the hospital setting. Since joining the practice, he has been actively involved in practice management and team training. He enjoys general dental practice and its challenges, with a special interest in advanced restorative dentistry and is keen on high quality care and standards. He has membership with the Faculty of General Dental Practice, the British Dental Association and Dental Protection.

Associate Dentist - Dentist

Since working as a general dental practitioner from 2008, he has successfully completed the postgraduate Diploma for Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Providing dental treatment to the highest standard is his goal for everyone who attends the practice, and he welcomes nervous and anxious patients as well as families and children.

He also enjoys playing and watching football and cricket and has a keen interest in travelling the world.

Dr Saad Sayeed - Dentist

Saad spent his formative years in the USA and UK, qualifying from the University of Birmingham in 2010. Whilst in dental school he developed an interest in Oral Surgery, which led him to research further into certain aspects of this speciality. His findings were nominated for a prize, and along with those of other colleagues, published and presented at a major international conference. Saad appreciates the importance of keeping his skills current for the benefit of his patients and thus attends numerous courses and has successfully passed Part 1 of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Dental Faculty Membership examinations.

In his spare time Saad is a trustee and treasurer at a registered charity catering for the educational and physical development of young people from less privileged backgrounds. He is also a keen sportsman, having previously represented both England and Great Britain.

Maimuna Daud - Dental Nurse

Maimuna has been with the practice since 1994. She has many years of experience, qualifying as a dental nurse in 2007, and is registered with the General Dental Council.

She enjoys educating patients on dental health and oral hygiene, a job she finds very rewarding. She also enjoys giving patient's advice and making them feel at ease, but the best part of her job she believes is seeing the patients smiling and happy at the end of their treatment.

When not at work she enjoys cooking, reading, shopping and socialising with friends and family.

Asiya Adam - Dental Nurse

Asiya joined the team in 2007 and she is one of our Qualified Dental Nurses. Asiya successfully passed her National Certificate in Dental Nursing examinations in May 2010, and is registered with the General Dental Council.

Asiya likes meeting our patients and particularly seeing the change we make to people's lives in terms of their increased personal confidence following treatment. She enjoys assisting in smile makeovers especially when it leads to changing a person's life. She possesses a caring and dedicated attitude and works extremely hard to ensure all patients are treated with the utmost care and attention.

Outside of the practice Asiya enjoys spending time with her family, socialising with friends and shopping. She also enjoys cooking and baking.

Tahera Bhojani - Dental Nurse

Tahera has been working as a dental nurse for nine years. She joined the practice in January 2010. She is an experienced and General Dental Council registered nurse. She has also worked as a head nurse at an NHS practice.

Tahera is friendly with all our patients and one of her strong suits is her bubbly and calming nature. She prides herself in ensuring that all her patients are comfortable and calm during treatments. She is also very good with our younger patients. Tahera is hard working and is committed to ensuring that all her patients are treated with great respect and care.

In her spare time, Tahera enjoys cooking, going out for meals and shopping. She is also actively involved in her local community and enjoys attending religious events.

Shabana Noormahomed - Dental Nurse

Shabana put her lifelong dream to practice after joining the team in December 2011 as a trainee dental nurse. She has the ability to comfort and reassure both young and older patients, and finds her job most rewarding seeing patients leave satisfied and with a smile on their face.

Outside the practice Shabana enjoys spending time with family and spending quality time with her son.

Zeenat Pasta - Dental Receptionist

Zeenat is a familiar friendly face to many of you. She joined the practice in January 2009. She will meet, greet and show existing and new patients around the practice and be a point of contact for them. She provides a first class service for our patients and encourages and supports the team to be the best.

Zeenat has always been enthusiastic about dentistry, which she says is her real passion. She will welcome our patients and put them at ease. In particular, seeing the impact we make to people's lives in regards to their increased personal confidence following dental treatment, a job she finds very rewarding.

In her spare time Zeenat enjoys going to the gym and keeping fit. She spends a lot of time with her family, socialising and experimenting with innovative recipes.

Arzeena Mururajani - Dental Receptionist

Arzeena joined the team in August 2011. She is a friendly, enthusiastic member. She has excellent linguistic, written and presentation skills. She is hardworking and an integral team member who is supportive to her colleagues. Her passion is in solving patient queries and treats patients with care; her first priority is ensuring patient satisfaction at the end of the day.

In her free time she enjoys cooking, baking and socialising with friends with a keen interest in arts and crafts. She also enjoys badminton and swimming in her spare time.
